Galeria Perdana Langkawi Highlights
Langkawi is not just a place for water lovers. People who love art and artworks can also spend very memorable time here and whenever it comes to artwork, Galeria Perdana Langkawi is a must-mention place & among recommended things to do in Langkawi. The theme of this museum is very easy to understand. If you want to closely see the gifts, souvenirs and awards given to the infamous and the longest serving Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir bin Mohammad and his wife during his regime in Malaysia.
Ever wondered why the gifts and awards are placed in the museum?
Mostly, the gifts and souvenirs given to government representatives are held by the receivers. The awards are mostly displayed in the museums or government buildings. But the Prime Minister felt a dire need of handing over the awards, gifts and souvenirs to the state and present them to the world as honorary history.
Let’s know some brief intro
In 1995, the construction of Galeria Perdana Langkawi was completed at an area of 5.3 (sq.km) in Kilim Village. The museum building is constructed in the center whereas the surroundings include garden, parks, herbal gardens and flower bushes. These very well-maintained gardens provide a perfect landscape of natural Malaysia.
There are total 9000 exhibits in Galeria Perdana Langkawi. But you will not see them altogether. It is named Galeria (gallery) because galleries of exhibits have been created. These galleries rotate and only one gallery displays at a time. This is how you will see new exhibits on every visit. The exhibits show a diversification in culture, history and artwork.
